Mydin aims to raise RM300k from its Prihatin initiative

KUCHING: Mydin Mohamed Holdings Berhad (Mydin), in collaboration with the Ministry of Women, Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development, aims to raise RM300,000 from its Mydin Prihatin charity programme.

The launch was officiated by minister Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah on Friday (April 22) at Mydin in Petra Jaya here.

The collaboration involved 51 strategic brand partners, including Safeguard, Gillette, Oral B, F&N, Colgate and Adabi.

Mydin managing director Datuk Wira Ameer Ali Mydin said from March 1 to May 22, between 5 sen and RM1 from each purchase of selected products would be channelled to the fund.

“This will be the fourth year Mydin has collaborated with the brands to contribute funds to the community, especially during the festive season,” he added.

He also pointed out that the B40 group and the needy “are always in Mydin’s heart, and we understand their struggles and this programme is to help them.”

“The donations that they will receive include household necessities, cash vouchers, Raya clothing and others.”

Funds would also be channelled to orphanages, old folks’ homes, disabled groups and the needy registered under their programme.
