Rural projects to get equal priority, says DCM

LAWAS: Priority will be given to both large projects in the state as well as various rural projects to ensure no one is left behind.

Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan who gave the undertaking said this was aimed at further improving facilities for the entire community.

“We will prioritise the development of infrastructure, including in the education sector, such as schools that need to be repaired.

“Similarly, mosques, surau and churches will be given priority for improvement and so on,” he said.

Awang Tengah who is Bukit Sari assemblyman was speaking at a thanksgiving ceremony in conjunction with Gabungan Parti Sarawak’s Jalan Punang Zone victory in the recently concluded state polls at Kampung Batong Hall, Jalan Punang on Monday.

Apart from that, he said associations would also be assisted to run programmes that have a positive impact on the community.

“In addition, we will continue the home improvement programme and we will try to help by giving priority to GPS supporters,” he said.

Awang Tengah the coalition’s big win the state election was an endorsement of confidence in GPS from the people.

“We will continue planning for the development and well-being of the community so that our people come out of the clutches of poverty,” he said.

Later at the event, Awang Tengah presented school bags to students of SK Belipat.
