KUCHING: Local entrepreneurs are told to grab opportunities to promote their products to a wider market.

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Parliament and Law) Datuk Seri Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar said one such initiative by the state government is the establishment of the Centre of Technical Excellence (Centexs) Commercial Media (CCM).

“I am very proud and happy as the Sarawak government is serious in helping to improve the status of the people and the state in various fields.

“The establishment of CCM is one of the laudable efforts to help promote the Sarawak made products which is being implemented until 2030.

“I hope entrepreneurs will take this opportunity to join CCM so that their products will be able to be marketed to a wider market,” he said.

Wan Junaidi who is formerly Federal Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister said this in a Facebook post on Saturday (Nov 13) commenting on the initiative.

On Thursday (Nov 11), the CCM was launched by Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan who is also International Trade and Industry, Industrial Terminal and Entrepreneur Development (Mintred) Minister.

Awang Tengah said the initiative can be a frontier in promoting Sarawak-made products and is in line with the state government’s initiative which is implemented until 2030 to promote local products.

“I am very interested in the idea of Centex Commercial to collaborate with social media influencers which are seen as a good move and able to have a positive impact.

“Mintred also very much welcomes this collaboration and through this collaboration, Mintred has provided an allocation of RM50,000 to implement a video programme to promote the products of Sarawakian entrepreneurs through the CCM social media channel,” he said.

He hoped the collaboration would achieve its objective as the main marketing and promotion platform for local Sarawak entrepreneurs.

“CCM has been working to promote and market Sarawak-made products since 2019 and we hope our entrepreneurs will be able to work with Centex Commercial and join CCM so that their products can be marketed to a wider market,” he added.
