KUCHING: The Puncak Borneo parliamentary constituency has received a total of RM8.2 million in development projects from the Rural Development Ministry (KPLB).
Plantations Industry and Commodities Deputy Minister Willie Mongin said the KPLB has approved 23 out of 27 project applications submitted.
“On July 28 last year, I have submitted a list of 27 projects to Rural Development Minister Datuk Dr Abd Latiff Ahmad for the Puncak Borneo constituency and 23 were approved.
“Earlier on Feb 28, I was informed that Puncak Borneo has been given an additional allocation of RM650,000 where a list of ten new projects were submitted for consideration,” he said.
Willie said for the ten projects, the site visit has been conducted by the KPLB officers along with the Puncak Borneo service centre officers.
“We will inform when the decision has been made by the Ministry,” he said in a statement today.
In the list of the 23 projects shared by Willie, most of them are for road upgrade, widening works as well as the construction of culverts.
“I hope that with the approval and implementation of these projects, it would continue to improve the living standards of the people of Puncak Borneo parliament constituency.
“I would also like to thank the federal government, the Sarawak government and the assemblymen in the Puncak Borneo area for their close cooperation in raising the people’s development agenda,” he said.
