KUCHING: The Dayak Bidayuh National Association (DBNA) has unveiled six core thrusts in its 10-year Strategic Plan (2020-2030) towards achieving high income community by 2030.
The six core thrusts are: Organisational Sustainability; Education and Skills Development; Culture, Language and Heritage; Native Customary Rights (NCR) Land Documentation and NCR Land Development; Entrepreneurship Development Programmes; and Community Development and Social Welfare Services.
The document was handed over to Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg during DBNA’s 65th anniversary celebration on Friday night.
DBNA chief advisor Datuk Seri Michael Manyin Jawong said the strategic plan contained proposals for programmes and projects to help the Bidayuh community prepare for and participate in the National Shared Prosperity Vision and to achieve high-income economy by 2030.
“Its primary objective is to provide a framework for the development of the Bidayuh community, and to seek funding from the government for the proposed programmes and projects. This will ensure that no one is left behind,” he said at the event which was attended by about 1,000 Bidayuh leaders and association members.
The strategic plan was drafted following a three-day workshop session organised jointly by the DBNA and Bidayuh Graduates Association (BGA) from Nov 15 to 17 last year to identify and address priority areas for the development and advancement of the community.
