KUCHING: SUPP President, Senator Datuk Dr. Sim Kui Hian urged West Malaysian press to be fair to SUPP in their reports and not to put words into his mouth.
At the unveiling of the SUPP manifesto with the candidates and party leaders at the party headquarters yesterday, Dr. Sim said what he asked for was for Peninsula to return the autonomy to Sarawak. “We are asking for what rightfully belongs to us. We are not asking for a “divorce”,he said.
Dr. Sim pointed out that oil and gas are produced in Sarawak and it is only natural that Sarawak should get a fair share of it. “Just like education and immigration among others, we want that autonomy back as cited in the Malaysian Agreement.
Calling on the West Malaysian media present, Dr. Sim asked them to get a copy of the Malaysian Agreement MA 63” for them to understand the sentiments of Sarawak. “It is not a history book; it is enshrined in the State Constitution.
On the prediction of winning in Batu Kitang, Dr. Sim said he did not want to make any prediction but his candidates will all work hard to achieve their goals. He said they had been on the ground for ages and would not shout for publicity unlike the Opposition.
He added that there were vuglar languages used and lies told at the Opposition rally. I can only asked the voters to give us five years to prove what we can do after the Opposition has 10 years and did not perform.
“Give us a chance, I can guarantee that you will not be disappointed”, he added
