KUCHING: Sarawak United Party People (SUPP) seems to be paving the way for United People’s Party (UPP) leaders to stand as a direct Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate.
The open invitation was made by SUPP president Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian welcoming back UPP leaders to the party.
This is a clear indication that SUPP has lost all right reason to stand in the forthcoming state election.
Thus, opting for a desperate attempt to reconcile with their splinter party. In order to remain relevant towards the society.
Questioning the ability of the oldest political party in Sarawak attempt to gain back the Chinese community support, which was lost during the last 2011 state election.
As such, are there not any suitable candidates in SUPP for this coming state election? To the extend they have to opt to plead those proven candidates from its splinter party.
However according to Sim, this was the best outcome in line with the BN spirit to ensure the possibilities and opportunities of solidarity, mutual support for the benefit of the Chinese community.
Alleging that some of SUPP senior leaders have expressed their interest to retire from politics.
He added that if SUPP couldn’t stand in the 19 seats, this will not be the party’s personal problem but also BN problem as involves seats.
This is SUPP clear standpoint why SUPP is giving way to UPP. As such, this conditions have been conveyed to the Chief Minister Tan Sri Adenan Satem.
Sim stressed this is not the matter of winning or losing, but more for the concern of the Chinese community. – SARAWAKVOICE.COM
